...Patrick
contributes to the final product of Iris-T-Shirt music in several
ways. I will play anything that makes noise, though I am currently
focused on 11 (yes, 11) and 6 string guitar, vocals, and synthesizer.
Love is a strong force on all Iris-T-Shirt songs, and an unparalelled
influence on my life (You should definitely visit The
Rhythm Section, to find out why). I like to waste
time and ignore priorities though, so sometimes I make my own
experimental music. I hope that by sharing my songs with others
I can help you (others) find old ways to look at new problems.
You will understand this in time, just LISTEN.
Learn from the past and true world that underlies all that exists
in this world that we act as if we have created, we all were
born of it. Don't take all of my lyrics as being literal, nor
should you assume that they are invented from purely imagined
circumstances. They come from moments in my life, whether trivial,
or intense and life-altering. Please treat my art as if you
were reading my heart's translation of everyday events. You
will understand better this way. If you are yet to understand
give it time, you need something to do any way... right?

In
the Beginning there was a day of complete and pure silence,
this silence was unbroken save for movement of particles that
exist between visible spectres. Anger was pulled from ether
by an external force that is insistent upon changing, aging,
and rearranging. This anger formed factions with inertia drawing
them towards certain outcomes. These factions as well as their
outcomes existed aside from and independent of creatures, humans,
and gods, but lived in a sphere that effected all of the previous,
when they chanced to come into being. All was right for these
factions, and creatures, and their outcomes until life physically
and emotionally joined all of these objects and ideas. The gods
and creatures were forced to think of life in terms of these
outcomes instead of these outcomes only existing. The factions
became groups instead of ideas that were present or not. Outcomes
became controlling forces, not well deserved futures. The outcome
was no longer part of life, but part of living the idea of a
faction. Factions chose sides within arguments of no concern
to the outcomes, or sides that are identical. Did this cause
the outcomes to change, or cease to exist at all?

Why
couldn't you see me before? I used to be invisible, naked eyes
had no way to fix upon me and ears could not hear to boot. Now
I'm in front of you, and energized to the root. Can you think
straight? Can you categorize? Could you put me in a box, no
matter how you tried? You don't need that crutch, do you, after
all these years? You may find you're more likely to fall when
you stand on fake legs. Acceptance of fate is all that it takes
to stand on your own, live freely, participate in this dance
we call day to day. Open your pores to the beat of the bass,
move your feet, stretch your face, change your place. Change
your time, stay a while, and smile at what you've found on this
grounded home.

The
purpose of the utility is to return a set of values in both
milliseconds and digital samples, and will adjust these valuse
based upon the tempo(BPM) entered by the user. The values
represent the actual length of notes (at the given tempo)
from 1/64 notes, all the way up to 4 Measures. Use it to set
loop points or to create samples and loops
that actually fit to the tempo. Use shorter note
lengths to set reverb and delay times. These
values will work in Directx and vst plugins
that ask for any millisecond value.
This
utility was invented by me out of necessity. It is a wonderful
tool for electronic, computer, and audio sampling musicians.

This
is a completely new aspect of the Voice and Textures page.
Poetic Servitude draws upon influence from spontaneous poets
and jazz musicians of the past, and combines it with a useless
output of creative energy. (See Dostoevsky quote in Words
of Wisdom #1) This also satisfies my need to create experimental
music, without the structure of my other musical creations.
This should be an ongoing feature of Voice and textures, so
keep an eye out for Poetic Servitude #2.
