Some of these songs have been refined over a couple of years, and some of them were completed in a couple of hours. Some were created by recording live at WE Are... Studio, while some others were meticulously tweaked and constructed (or deconstructed.) Otherwise...New audio is up in the listen area, including two short teasers from dead on the street life, and a full length song also from the new album, so check it out. There are also a few new images up in vision. Work continues on Dead on the street life, only a short while to go. Keep visiting the SpivKurl Portal to know when it is released!

2 Jan, 2004 Some of you in the "local area" may already know, but the performance referred to previously was cancelled at the last minute... so no recordings no reports. Angry performers all around.

24 Dec, 2003 SpivKurl is well on the way to having a CD worth of recordings. This CD will be available in the We Are Records online store. The tentative title is Dead on the Street Life. This will span two to three years of songwriting and experimentation, so expect some variety.

24 DEC, 2003 Yes, there is news. SpivKurl will be participating in its first live performance at Board To Death, here in Rochester, MN USA. The performance includes several other artists from the Rochester area, and is promoted by Legions of Boom. My set list of seventeen songs in length includes mostly NEW material which is mostly in the ELECTRO and Ambient Techno genres. Look out here for a recording of this show, photos, and maybe other goodies.

Those of you who may know the old SpivKurl, you may be surprised at the sound, look, and feel that is SpivKurl now. With the setup complete of the new We Are... Studio 2, much time has been spent in a systematic destruction of all that was the SpivKurl that you knew. New freedoms will become apparent when you visit the "Listen" section of this site, new influences are driving the music, old has become fresh, and SpivKurl has broken deeper still into the great experiment. That experiment in lack of experimentation.

I promise that SpivKurl will still be devoted to its past philosophies. As SpivKurl I attempt to be conduit, translating energies and stimuli of a physical, emotional, spiritual, electrical, and chemical nature into an audible form. Not only an audible form, but something worth listening to, and which merits revisiting. It begs you to hear more, AND YOU WILL.

The genres which some may refer to in the electronic music community have little to do with SpivKurl, but some of them may approach the newest work by SpivKurl. Among these are; Electro, Big Beat, Minimalist, Techno, Ambient, Braindance, Trance, Acid, and Breakbeats. Try to forget these artificial creations when experiencing SpivKurl.
